Sports Leadership Network

Never has leadership been more important than in current times and this is equally so in Sports, both on and off the field.

No matter what level of Sport you are operating in, community organization and grassroots right through to national teams and organizations, leadership is required right across the spectrum and can take any form. It is also an ever-evolving practice that requires discipline, review, and a fresh from an individual and organization or team perspective.

What We have all come to appreciate, particularly more recently, is that leadership is not position or title-specific. It needs to be inherent and encouraged within an organization at all levels because it comes from an unlikely source.

Leadership can also be transient can also be transient; some positions have a role that is tasked with responsibility and always expected to show these qualities, while others can be situational.

Sport is the most popular extracurricular activity for children. In Africa alone, millions of children play sports every day and they do so for a number of reasons. For most of them, it is just a fun and healthy activity they enjoy doing with friends and family. Some others, however, dream of emulating their sporting heroes.

All these start and end with leadership.

This is why I have dedicated myself to being a student of Sports and leadership, hence the birth of the Sports leadership network.
